RECREATION DIRECTOR

Camp Foss is seeking a fun, organized motivated individual to supervise the Recreation/Sports program for summer 2019. Responsibilities are to plan, implement, and evaluate summer sports programming to include daily instructional lessons, large group games, fun new activities, competition days and similar. SENIOR COUNSELORS

We are looking for staff that will help campers make new friends, try new things, and have fun while making memories. Counselors live in cabins with the campers and work in one of the following activity areas: Recreation (sports), Waterfront, or Hobbies (dance, performing arts, target sports, boating, ropes course, and arts & crafts). Helpful Dates & Reminders For Staff

  • February 1, 2019 - Camp Doc links will be sent out. All documents must be uploaded prior to your arrival at camp.
  • March 1, 2019 - Expert Online Training will be sent out. These trainings must be complete prior to your arrival at camp.
  • June 14&15, 2019 - Staff reports depending on your role at camp. Contact the Camp Director for which date you should arrive.

LEADERSHIP

Is learned in a real-life context (not made up or contrived!). You will likely by supervising children between 8-15 years of age, engaging in decision-making, behavior management, and living ethics, which are all necessary leadership skills today.

21ST CENTURY SKILLS

Communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and contribution that are critical for success in today’s world are developed and practiced at Camp Foss, they are skills and traits that can draw employers attention to your resume.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Connections with other staff and to Camp Foss alumni can provide a link to possible internships or future job opportunities in a variety of careers.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Aubree and other members of the leadership team write great recommendations because they take time to get to know you as an individual and see you in action on a daily basis.

DIVERSE & GLOBAL EXPERIENCE

Camp Foss provides a global experience without the expense of long distance travel. We have campers and staff from a variety of places and cultural perspectives from around the US and the world.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Ongoing professional development sets you up to learn about your job while building a strong team with the people you will be working with and offers support all throughout the summer.

TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS

You get to keep any additional training you may acquire (like CPR, First aid, and activity specialist certifications) that may also help you land a job at home or school working in a wide range of settings.

COLLEGE CREDIT OR INTERNSHIP

You may be eligible for college credit in some cases or able to use Camp Foss as an independent study, practicum, or internship experience. Ask your advisor or talk to a professor at your school about how the skills you will learn directly relate to your major and make you a stronger job candidate.

ROOM & BOARD

Will be provided while working at camp. Housing, meals utilities and other living expenses are covered, which means extra money in your back pocket at the end of the summer.

PAY

You will get paid on a weekly basis and your salary is position based. As you continue to work at camp your pay will increase. (spending the summer at camp is a great way to save most of your earnings!).
